Obituary for Charles "Gib" Stanley

Charles “Gib” Stanley, 69, of Buffalo went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 25, 2015 following a long illness. He was a Christian and attended the Buffalo Church of the Nazarene. Gib was a lifelong resident of Buffalo and a 1964 graduate of Buffalo High School. He retired from Century Aluminum after 40 years of service, and was also an Army veteran. He was a huge fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers and rarely missed a sporting event cheering on the Buffalo Bison.

Gib was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Stanley; mother, Edna Martin Stanley; and brother, Burl Stanley.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judy Mash Stanley; daughters, Susan Sayre (Jason) Early of New Matamoras, Ohio, and Stacey Stanley of Buffalo; grandson, Ryan, and the love of his life, granddaughter, Addisyn; brother, Gary (Eva) Stanley of Buffalo; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Raynes Funeral Home Buffalo with Pastor Steve Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Memorial Park, Buffalo. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
