Truman Hart
(March 5, 1921 - February 11, 2012)

U.S. Veteran Truman Hart, 90 of Buffalo passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at his home following a short illness. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army. He retired from FMC Corp. in Nitro, and was a former member of the Midway United Methodist Church.

Born March 5, 1921, he was the son of the late John Hart and Rhoda Warner Hart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Patchell Hart, and sisters, Elva Winters and Freda King.

He is survived by his sons, David (Toni) Hart of Buffalo, and John “Johnny” (Carolyn) Hart of Taylorsville, NC; a sister, Velma Lee Anderson of Huntington; grandchildren, Ashley Hart, Patrick Hart, Jonathan Hart and Gabrielle Hart; and great-granddaughter, Haleigh Rhodes.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Raynes Funeral Home Buffalo with Pastor Mike Tucker officiating. Burial with military graveside honors by American Legion James E. Marshall Post 187 Winfield will follow in Buffalo Memorial Park, Buffalo. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the funeral home.
